The primary function of the Glide path (GP) structure is to support the glide
path radiating antennas and DME receiving/transmitting antennas. The solution
includes the requirements for optional safety climbing and is subject to very strict
tolerances.
The structure is constructed, and material selected, to optimize frangibility (safety)
as per ICAO regulations and even beyond. The structure must withstand the forces
of jet blast, wind, ice, weather present on the airfield. Also, the structure need
to withstand the added force of the equipment mounted on the structure for its
intended use.
And without compromising on safety or strength.
The solution is sustainable and environmental safe.
The structure is constructed with functional and material focus, using:
- corrosive resistant material
- sustainability and recyclability
- aluminium lattice structure
- none–intrusive material
In order to maximize safety and durability in structure, effort has been put into
assembly processes of the structures, such as:
- none-welded production and assembly processes, and
- none-adhesive bonding
